Author Biography

  • Marija Vulesica

    Dr Marija Vulesica is a historian and Alfred Landecker Lecturer at Humboldt University of Berlin, specialising in antisemitism, Zionism, and the Holocaust with a particular focus on Southeast Europe. Her current research explores the history of the Holocaust in the Independent State of Croatia through a biographical lens. She received her PhD from the Technische Universität Berlin in 2011 with a dissertation on the emergence of political antisemitism in the Habsburg Crown Lands of Croatia and Slavonia. Her latest book, “From Zagreb to Palestine: Yugoslav Zionist Aid Networks for European Jews, 1933–1941”, was published in November 2025.
